A recent trip down the Rhine, Mein and the Danube rivers offered up some spectacular views of ancient castles.  The clouds created such a fairy-tale atmosphere.  Can't imagine living in one, but they are simply stunning looking up from the river perspective.  Looking at buildings is so rewarding to me.  I love thinking about the design elements and principles that went into the creation of the structure.  Textures, colors, shapes and visual interaction with their surroundings are things I enjoy contemplating while observing architecture.
